Site Updates

New Features and Bug Fixes Added
Bowling Calculators and Much More

This article is meant not only to introduce new features the Knowledge Base has gained, but also to address a couple errors/issues the site has undergone that have now been fixed.

The Knowledge Base, available here, has two new sections, titled "Calculators" and "Dictionary." If you'd like to calculate certain variables applicable to bowling given certain inputs, be sure to hit the "Calculators" section. There are currently seven calculators, which compute the following variables:

  1. Ball Layouts
  2. Ball Dynamics
  3. Ball Size
  4. Ball Speed
  5. Rev Rate
  6. Axis Tilt
  7. Pitch Rotation

Check the video below for a full demo on using the calculators along with a tour on the website.

The "Dictionary" section is full of professional bowling terms to search meanings for. In addition to definitions, there are expert tips given to whatever term is being described. You can also filter by a bowling category, view an image depicting the term, and search for synonyms and antonyms. Lastly, if you don't know how the word is pronounced, click the "Hear Word" button!

There have also been site errors that have recently been discovered and have now been fixed. First and foremost, we would like to apologize for any inconvenience to those whom experienced these issues.

The common error happened on the Sign-up page. After completing step #3 in the form, a page indicating an internal server 500 error would pop up. That step was for verifying your email. After entering a verification code and clicking the "Activate Account" button, the error would generate. To those whom saw such errors: your account still would have been submitted, and you can still log in. If you don't remember the password you entered at the time, you can still use the "Forgot Password?" feature on the Login page.

There was also a bug on updating account information under the Settings page. Information under the "My Account" tab would fail to update upon clicking the "Save Changes" button. This has been resolved, so now you can update any information relevant to your account, like username, email address, and profile picture.
